HUGE RELATIVE GAINS FOR POETS!!!

It has long been said that there is no money in poetry, but now that there is no money in anything else, poets are realizing HUGE relative GAINS.

POETS ARE IN BETTER FINANCIAL SHAPE THAN WALL STREET!!!

The humblest, unrecognized poet is doing better than CITIBANK, than BEAR STEARNS, than MERRILL LYNCH. Pick a financial company and chances are most poets are wealthier than them.

WHAT IS GOOD FOR POETS IS GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY!!!

Hey, why not? After all, what is good for GM these days is certainly NOT good for the country. Poets have not gone massively in debt in order to produce something nobody wants to buy. Consequently, bailing out poets would take far less than the multi-billion dollar package the politicos are trying to get passed for their campaign contributors -- er, I mean automakers -- in Detroit.

POETS HAVE NOT DONE SO WELL COMPARED TO OTHER AMERICANS SINCE THE GREAT DEPRESSION!!!

Which figures, since we are in The Great Depression Two (GDII).
