Make no mistake about it: Burt Kimmelmanappears here – & not for the first time – as a successor to the lineage of William Carlos Williams & George Oppen (to name but two), no less so for being a master of that lineage worn proudly.  The sense of number in his writing – particle by particle & breath by breath – & the attention that he gives to other particulars – the littlest words & the small moments through which we live – are of a piece.  In this there is nothing minor or modest, although it might appear to be just that, but a strict & powerful accounting, leaving me – for one – filled with admiration & hooked on every word.

Hello everyone. I have an update. Due to the weather, Joe & Dana are unable to make the reading tonight. Binghamton has 3 inches of snow and I don't want anyone to risk making a 5 hour trip in bad weather. So here is the schedule for tonight.

Holiday Celebration all night (bring a dish, if you can)

6:00 PM Youth Reading: Canceled

7:00 PM Workshop: Will continue as scheduled

8:00 PM Reading featuring Matt Borkowski: Will continue as scheduled

Open to follow, of course

The January youth reading will feature Johnny Erkila & Adam. Truly talented young poets who have read in our open many times.

I'll have all the information for you shortly.

Joe will facilitate the January workshop.

Dana will read in February.

See you tonight.

Job

1) Does anyone in NJ (Edgewater and/or Paramus) need extra work/money
for the holiday? I have a lead for two Whole Foods lentil soup demos,
Dec. 5 and/or Dec. 7. Let me know ASAP and I'll put you in contact with
the person who will be paying you. Each demo pays $50 for 4 hours work.
Must be personable. Must have table and crock pot.

2) Does anyone in NJ want to do a Pantene shampoo demo for $16 an hour
on Dec. 12 in Budd Lake? Must be personable and neatly groomed. Let me
know ASAP and I'll put you in contact with the person who will be paying
you.
