Mind Pixels: Photomontages, Sculptures and Film of Daina Krumins at the Barron Arts Center
Exhibit runs August 21 – September 15
WOODBRIDGE, New Jersey – August 5, 2009 – Surealism is alive and well at the Barron Arts Center where they will host the unique exhibition “Mind Pixels,” opening on Saturday, August 21st. The Barron Arts Center is located at 582 Rahway Avenue in Woodbridge, NJ. Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend.
The “Mind Pixels” exhibition features photomontages, sculpture and films by surrealistic artist Daina Krumins. The exhibit opens on August 21st and runs until September 15th. Gallery hours are Monday thru Friday, 11am-4pm; Saturday and Sunday 2pm-4pm. The public is also invited to attend the opening reception on Sunday, August 22nd from 2pm-4pm. Light refreshments will be served and reservations are suggested.
The Barron Arts Center will also present a showing of Ms. Krumins’ films on Thursday, August 26th at 7pm. Three of her films -- ''The Divine Miracle,'' ''Babobilicons,'' and ''Summer Light'' -- will be shown with a question and answer period to follow each film. Ms. Krumins makes films that are part live action, part animation, but all surreal. The movies, which contain no narratives or dialogue, run less than 20 minutes each. She won the Silver Award at the Big Muddy Film Festival in Carbondale, Ill., and has been shown at the Athens International Film Festival, the Dallas Video Festival and other festivals around the world.
